| Radio Campaign Coast to Coast
"Water – Use It Wisely" and the Water Conservation Coalition of Puget Sound have developed a fantastic promotion to get the listeners of Seattle excited about saving water. From June 16th through August 17th, two new 60-second radio spots are airing on three of Washington's top stations. The spots communicate the water conservation messages as well as encourage people to get involved through a special contest.
Each spot drives people to any of the station's websites and the Water Conservation Coalition of Puget Sound website to have the chance to submit a water conservation tip of their own or test their water conservation knowledge. In the first week, there were over 300 responses to the contest. Seattle residents take a quiz and are eligible to win a variety of prizes, for example a new water-efficient Maytag Neptune washer and dryer from Arnold's Appliance.
The Council of Governments in Washington D.C., with members in Maryland and Virginia, have tailored the radio campaign, without the contest, to fit their region.
