Water-Use It Wisely” Measures Up!

How hard is your water conservation campaign really working? When Washington D.C., Seattle, and Arizona municipalities needed to answer that question, they each conducted their own survey to test how well their current campaign measured up against “Water – Use It Wisely.” The results show how the empowering message and colorful, informative execution of the WUIW campaign make it more effective at raising awareness and sparking action. Here’s a sample of survey comments:

• “I like this…it gives you actual information…that’s often what’s missing from these campaigns, they don’t give you actual tips. They warn you, but don’t tell you how to fix it. This is giving you actual ideas that anyone can put to use.”
Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Advertising Campaign Testing Focus Groups

• “I was given ideas on how to save water rather then being left to my own.”
“I loved it. It got me excited to go home and try it.”
WCCPS and the Saving Water Partnership Focus Group Public Awareness Campaign Research

• “Sixty-nine percent of metro Phoenix residents recall the “Water-Use It Wisely” campaign.”
