Campaign History


Overview
The "Water – Use It Wisely" campaign sprang from the desert Southwest. It is NOT a response to the drought. Rather, it was created in 2000, long before the dreaded "D" word was mentioned, and is designed as a long-term campaign to help change habits and behaviors towards conserving water. The drought has simply brought more attention to the ardent need to protect this most precious resource.

Park&Co, a Phoenix-based marketing firm, created the program on behalf of several Arizona cities to develop and reinforce a universal water conservation ethic. The campaign is in response to consumers cry for information: "Don't tell us to save water, show us how."

"Water – Use It Wisely" is a colorful, fun, and empowering campaign that measurably increases consumer's knowledge of water saving devices and techniques to reduce overall water consumption.

  1. Promote consumer awareness of how and when they are using water.
  2. Demonstrate simple ways to save water in and around the home and office.
  3. Empower the consumer to save water by changing their basic attitudes and habits toward water usage.

Environmental & Social Marketing
Since we began in 1994, Park&Co has had an eye to the outdoors. Our people would rather wrestle the elements in a tent, fall off a mountain bike, or break-in a cheap pair of hiking boots than work. Yet, to afford the latest in outdoor gear, we've resigned ourselves to making a living. But one we can live with. And yes, when the City of Phoenix needed a hard hitting drought campaign, we did that too, but not at the expense of "Water – Use It Wisely."
